Accountant

This is a varied accounting role that is responsible for undertaking compliance processes (including returns), reviewing and reconciling accounts, managing our accounts administration system and providing financial support to different areas of the business.

At Toyota New Zealand we value connection and working closely in our teams, so this role is based on site Monday – Friday at our Head Office in Palmerston North, reporting to our Finance Associate Manager.

What’s involved in the role:

• Accounting Compliance Processes (GST, FBT & NRWT returns) and communication with the IRD.
• Administration of our Approval Plus accounts system, including providing support to staff across the business with use of the system.
• Month end processes – month end journals and reconciliations, ensuring integrity of financial information.
• Supporting different areas of the business with Financial Reviews.

To be successful in this role, ideally you will have:

• Ideally you will have 3+ years accounting experience however, if you have less experience but are a quick learner and extremely motivated to grow, we would still love to hear from you.
• Experience undertaking compliance process (including GST and FBT returns).
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, or equivalent.
• Interpersonal skills and the ability to work closely to support different stakeholders across the business.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and ideally, experience using a large ERP system. Experience using JDE is a bonus.
