The Opportunity
We are seeking an experienced and commercially minded Accountant to join our finance team on a fixed term contract. This role is responsible for delivering accurate financial reporting, carrying out month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring compliance with accounting standards and statutory requirements, and supporting key finance initiatives. The successful candidate will be a qualified Chartered Accountant with strong technical accounting expertise and the ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
This role is 6 months fixed-term in length, full time (40 hours a week). This opportunity is based in our fully renovated Auckland office. We have a hybrid arrangement of Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in office. Tuesdays and Thursdays are work from home.
What You’ll Do
Carry out month-end and year-end close processes to ensure timely, accurate financial reporting.
Assist in the preparation of management accounts and financial statements.
Prepare balance sheet reconciliations and resolve outstanding items.
Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards and statutory reporting requirements.
Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning activities.
Assist with external audits and liaise with auditors.
Support tax compliance requirements, including GST and corporate tax information.
Support Sage ERP Finance projects, system implementations, and other ad hoc initiatives as required.
Provide support across Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions.
What You’ll Bring
Qualified Chartered Accountant (CA ANZ or equivalent).
Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline.
At least one year post-qualified experience.
Strong technical knowledge of IFRS (experience with NZ IFRS and/or US GAAP is advantageous).
Strong Excel skills and experience using ERP systems.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
