About the role:

This is a Monday to Friday permanent position, 40 hours/week with some flexibility over start and finish times.  The ideal candidate will have the ability to work to deadlines and to manage time effectively within a small but busy team environment.  This will suit someone who is quick to learn, competent and who enjoys a challenge.  The position requires the person to work efficiently both by themselves and as part of our team. It also involves working with others at various levels within the organisation. This role will suit someone who has an intuitive skill for reconciling/balancing.  There is a large variety of tasks at different levels and because these are sometimes shared to distribute the workload, they can include, but are not limited to:

  • Processing shop bankings & identifying discrepancies.
  • Monitoring shop uncollected orders & liaising with shop staff on reducing these.
  • Organising/facilitating shop stocktakes & reviewing discrepancies.
  • Accounts Receivable – Processing & reconciling debtors, chasing up overdues, processing credit applications.
  • Data entry - debtor receipts etc.
  • Provide assistance to the Accountant on such things as reconciling General Ledger accounts, etc.
  • Accounts Payable - coordination within the accounting package (Odoo) of vendor invoices, matching to Purchase Orders, distribution to supervisors for approval and payments by the due dates.
  • Reconciling subsidiary debtors’ ledger totals to accounting software.
  • Bank reconciliations.
  • Constantly striving for continuous improvement in our systems & processes (Lean).

 

Your skills and experience:

  • A minimum of two years office experience.
  • Strong mathematical & reconciliation ability.
  • High level of attention to detail.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple on-going jobs all at different stages.
  • Able to work efficiently in a deadline focused environment.
  • Excellent computing and Microsoft Office skills.
  • Competency in Excel is desirable.
  • Self-Motivated and driven.
  • Able to work well in a team or independently. 
  • Excellent communication both written and verbal.
  • Reliable.
  • Positive attitude.
