Are you a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts Officer looking to join a close-knit Payables Team? We have an exciting opportunity for a 1-year fixed term contract to work in the Local Government sector for a well-regarded employer - Nelson City Council!
About this role | Kō tēnei tūranga mahi
Reporting to the Team Leader Payables, you will be responsible for creditors and purchase order support and managing the Council’s customer database, MagiQ. You will ensure council's financial transactions are accurate and compliant with financial policies and regulations. As a back-up for creditors, you’ll complete invoice processing and payment runs as well as reconciliation and purchase order training for internal staff. You will also manage the administration functions of the Total Mobility scheme, enabling members of the community to travel within Nelson on discounted fares.

This is a 1 year fixed term, full-time position (40 hours per week). Ideally starting on or close to 22 July 2024 to allow ample time for training and handover with the current incumbent.
