At ECL, we enable the connections that keep New Zealand moving. As the country’s oldest and most trusted infrastructure services provider, we’ve been delivering reliability since 1957.
We install, maintain, protect, and repair the critical infrastructure that powers daily life — from fuel systems and EV charging stations to payment technologies and vehicle wash solutions. With a team of over 300 skilled professionals across 19 locations nationwide, we deliver 24/7 support to New Zealand’s most iconic brands. Z Energy, BP, Exxon Mobil, Foodstuffs, G.A.S, Woolworths and NZ Post.
What you’ll be doing:
You’ll take full ownership of ECL Group’s end-to-end accounts receivable function, ensuring all invoicing, collections, credit approvals, and reconciliations are executed accurately and on time. You’ll manage customer accounts with a sharp eye for detail, ensuring financial records are clean, compliant, and aligned with internal controls and credit policies.
You’ll lead and mentor a close-knit AR team, creating a high-performing culture grounded in accountability, continuous improvement, and excellent service delivery.
You’ll work closely with key business units—finance, operations, and account management—to proactively manage risk, resolve disputes, and reduce aged debt and outstanding WIP.
You’ll take charge of the credit control function, monitoring customer creditworthiness, reviewing and approving credit applications, and escalating high-risk accounts with confidence and clarity.
You’ll be a champion for system optimisation, becoming a subject matter expert in Certinia/Salesforce to ensure the ERP is working for the team—not the other way around.
You’ll provide clear, data-driven reporting to leadership, including ageing summaries, cash forecasting, and collections insights to support strategic planning.
You’ll play a critical role in supporting audit readiness and compliance, ensuring documentation and controls meet both internal and external standards.
You’ll take every opportunity to review and refine existing processes, recommending improvements that make the business stronger, leaner, and more efficient.
What you’ll bring:
You bring proven experience in credit control and accounts receivable, ideally in a leadership or supervisory role within a fast-paced, customer-focused business.
You thrive on leadership and collaboration—with your team, with stakeholders, and with customers—because you know strong relationships drive stronger results.
You have a strong track record of reducing aged debt, improving DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), and building processes that drive real results.
You understand the mechanics of ERP systems, especially around job management and invoicing, and you’ve used tools like Salesforce, Certinia, or similar platforms to make finance more streamlined and effective.
You have a solid grasp of New Zealand credit legislation, accounting standards (IFRS), and commercial terms—and know how to apply them in real-world business scenarios.
You lead with confidence and empathy, inspiring your team through clear communication, hands-on support, and a commitment to personal and professional development.
You’re a natural problem-solver, able to analyse credit risk, customer behaviour, and cash trends, and use that insight to shape smarter decisions and policies.
You bring grit, resilience, and adaptability, staying cool under pressure and focused on outcomes, even when things get complex or timelines are tight.
And above all, you're a customer-oriented, commercially savvy, and driven to make the finance function a strategic partner—not just a back-office function.
What We Offer:
We offer a competitive salary and the opportunity to be part of a friendly, high-performing team that makes a difference every day. ECL Group provides great career development opportunities, a strong focus on employee wellbeing, and a positive, safety-first workplace culture.
