Job Description - Administrator

Ritchies Transport is one of New Zealand’s leading transport companies, delivering safe and reliable services to communities across the country. We are currently looking for a motivated and organised Office Administrator to join our Methven team and support the day-to-day operations of the depot 



This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys variety in their role, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in keeping things running smoothly behind the scenes.



About the Role


The Office Administrator plays a key role in supporting depot operations by providing efficient administrative support to the management and operational teams.


You will be the go-to person for the office, ensuring systems, documentation, and processes are maintained while supporting staff, customers, and stakeholders.



Key Responsibilities


In this varied role, you will:



  • Provide day-to-day administrative support to depot and operations teams

  • Prepare, collect, and maintain documents, forms, and reports

  • Manage data entry, records, and filing systems

  • Provide excellent customer service to internal and external stakeholders

  • Answer phones and respond to enquiries

  • Assist with charter bookings and quotes

  • Manage depot purchasing and office supplies

  • Assist with stock control and stock takes

  • Take meeting minutes and support office coordination

  • Support health, safety, and wellbeing processes across the depot

  • Assist with insurance claims documentation and related administration

  • Help organise office functions and events

  • Provide relief support for other team members when required



About You


We are looking for someone who is organised, proactive, and enjoys supporting a busy team.


You will ideally have:



  • Previous administration experience

  • Strong communication and customer service skills

  • Excellent attention to detail

  • Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and Excel

  • The ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines

  • A flexible and positive team-focused attitude

  • Confidence learning new systems and processes


Experience in the transport or logistics sector would be advantageous but is not essential.
