We have an exciting opportunity for an Adviser to join our Operational Policy team. 


 


Kōrero  te tūranga | About the role 


As an Adviser Operational Policy, your role encompasses a spectrum of responsibilities that are key for the effective delivery of Manatū Taonga functions 


Your role is multifaceted, requiring engagement with regulatory systems, investment and funding programmes, and a keen awareness of the development and practice of operational policy. You support the wider team with the administration of legislation, enabling Manatū Taonga to deliver our responsibilities for specific legislation relating to tangible and intangible cultural heritage.  This includes compliance monitoring and enforcement of legislated or regulated policies that we administer or contribute to. 


 


This role offers plenty of room and support for development and growth, including opportunities to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders.  



Kōrero mōu | About you 


The preferred candidate will have 



  • Experience working in government in a policy or operational policy environment, particularly in administration of legislation and / or investment programmes. 



  • An understanding of relevant legislation and machinery of government.  



  • Excellent communication skills and relationship management  



  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills  



  • An ability to provide quality advice under tight timeframes 



  • Some understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi principles and application of these in public policy and partnership with Māori.
