Advisor / Senior Advisor – Infrastructure Asset Manager

 

Based in Taranaki or the Central North Island in a fun-lifestyle focused environment, you’ll work with leaders and experts on projects of regional and national significance.

Due to a growing number of projects, we’re looking for an infrastructure asset manager to join our team in Taranaki or the central North Island. 

Ideally from a transport, three waters or utilities background, you’ll be at the forefront of making quality evidence-based decisions for our clients in the way they manage their infrastructure assets, by working closely with our clients and their consultants and contractors. You could be from an asset management background and looking to take the next step in your career in a supportive environment, or a technical professional with an understanding of the principals of asset management looking to broaden your horizons. Either way, you’ll have the opportunity to grow into other facets of strategic planning to support our local and government sectors.

About you

What you’ll do

  • Decisive logical reasoning means you can work independently and operate collaboratively, efficiently, and effectively, drawing on experience and the best evidence around you to make decisions you can stand behind.
  • Integrate with our entire team, developing a strong Mahi Tahi/ workplace culture - adding value at every step of our advisory projects.
  • You’ll work with a wide range of data and information, using it to help develop Rationale’s products such as business cases and decision-making frameworks. 
  • Critical thinking, problem solving using strategy and intuition enables you to transform data from a variety of sources into meaningful analytics and visuals to help our clients.
  • Keeping a keen interest in what’s happening with both a micro and macro perspective, you’ll be looking to take an innovative approach to how we do business, bringing fresh ideas and asking the right questions.

Capability Statement: What skills do we need? 

3-5+ years experience in a consulting environment or the public sector with a relevant tertiary qualification is preferred. 

  • Familiarity with the mechanics of local government – how local government manages its assets and makes decisions about them
  • Infrastructure/ asset management plans and data analysis
  • Programme & project management
  • Iwi engagement, awareness of Mātauranga Māori and Mana o te Wai
  • Contract administration 
  • A customer focus with stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to problem solve and show initiative / intuition
  • Have logical reasoning – draw sound conclusions when presented with information and data
  • Strong analytical skills
  • Strong written communication skills
