About the role

As an Aeronautical Capacity Planner, you will play an integral part in the Capacity team by supporting with the seasonal and operational peak planning activities, including building and maintaining strong relationships with the airport ecosystem stakeholders to help Auckland Airport and its airline customers achieve an excellent customer experience.

Your key responsibilities are:

• Develop, implement and maintain airport operational planning frameworks, including associated seasonal planning forums with airport ecosystem partners
• Prepare planning information presentation slides pack
• Assist with airport terminal capacity planning through scenario modelling using Beontra by testing the “risks” for business as usual (BAU) and construction phasing scenario planning activities.
• Assist with maintaining airport capacity models and continuously update the models with the latest available assumptions and data, both from the internal and external parties.
• Work alongside the Operations Capacity and Planning Coordinator and the Ground Transport Coordinator to ensure a well thought out and synchronised end-to-end airport ecosystem capacity planning.
• Work alongside the Aeronautical Capacity Analyst to ensure the most up-to-date real-time operational data and insights are used to ensure relevancy of the Beontra capacity models.
• Coordinate and update the six-monthly airport system capacity executive leadership team report.
• Prepare executive leadership team (ELT) and Board reports on summer peak readiness programme.

What you’ll bring to the role

To ensure your success in this role, you will need:

• Degree qualification in commerce, business, finance or tourism or other related field with emphasis on forecasting, modelling, data analytics (or equivalent body of knowledge)
• 3 years plus experience in planning, business analysis, stakeholder engagement and relationship management, leading projects and influencing key business decisions.
• Experience in operating in a complex multi-stakeholder environment.
• Strong results orientation with a track record of achieving superior results. 
• Well-developed skills as a team contributor, with demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively across functional lines.
• Excellent relationship-building skills at all levels of the organisation and externally.
• Ability to learn a new discipline quickly and apply it competently across the role accountabilities.
