Fond Farewells Pet Cremation Service has been providing dignified and caring farewells for pets since 1986. We work closely with veterinarian clinics to ensure each pet receives the respectful farewell they deserve.

About the role | Mō te tūranga:
We’re looking for a compassionate, professional, and detail-oriented Aquamation Technician & Collections Driver to join our small team at our new Fond Farewells Pet Aquamation Service in Wellington. 

This is a permanent, part-time position with negotiable hours – ideally around 30 hours per week, Monday to Friday (9am–3pm), with some flexibility available.

This is more than just a job – it’s a meaningful role for someone who understands the deep bond between people and their pets.

The role will involve:

• Engaging with our veterinary partners by phone, email and in person – building warm, professional relationships and representing our service with empathy and care.


• Driving across the Wellington region to collect beloved pets from veterinary clinics and respectfully returning their ashes.


• Operating our Aquamation Unit to process deceased pets – following established procedures safely and with consistency, focus, and respect.


• Ensuring accurate documentation for each pet in our care – every detail matters, and we treat every pet as if they were our own.


• Managing day-to-day admin tasks like invoicing, stock management and general logistics.

To be successful in this role you need to have:

• A calm, dependable and empathetic person who takes pride in doing meaningful work to a high standard.


• Comfortable with the emotional and compassionate nature of pet end-of-life care.


• Organised, professional and attentive to detail.


• Comfortable handling deceased animals and dealing with chemicals safely.


• Ability to lift heavy loads of up to 30 kg.


• Full and Clean NZ driver’s license.


• Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
