Area Manager 

We have an excellent opportunity to join our team as the Area Manager for the Auckland and Upper North Island. The key focus of this role is to deliver on growth and profitability targets for the area by ensuring we are operating efficiently and effectively and are working together to ensure we collectively meet and/or exceed our budget’s and sales goals.  The key piece here is working together, we have a great team, so are looking for a collaborative leader who will listen to the team, and work with them to ensure our ongoing success.

Key Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Build strong cross functional relationships across the business, building mutually beneficial growth strategies 
• Prepare and manage area budgets and forecasts, with continuous review of sales and make changes/improvments as required 
• Providing strong leadership and support to your team, enabling them to lead their teams as effectively
• Build strong customer relationships and be the ‘industry expert’ for your customers and your team
• Ensuring operational excellence across your area, and ensure the team has a continuous improvement mindset – ‘how can we do this better, quicker, smarter?
• Know your key customers  - what’s going well, long term goals, roadblocks, how we can best support 
• Manage your team from a people perspective – 1:1, goal setting, mentoring, performance management, professional development 

Skills and attributes required to be a success in the role:

• Previous experience leading a team who successfully and consistently achieved sales targets  
• Strong experience with budgeting, planning and forecasting
• A natural ability to build and maintain longstanding customer relationships 
• A strong ability to coach, mentor and influence others 
• Be a champion of change and how this can enable ongoing success from a strategic perspective 
• Strong commercial acumen
• A construction or engineering background is ideal yet not essential
