Job Description - Area Manager - Rapid Progression

Position Summary: 

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Area Manager to lead our Low Carbon Concrete Business in Hamilton. As the Manager, you will play a critical role in establishing and growing our business, focusing on the supply of low carbon concrete to meet the increasing demand for sustainable construction materials.

About the Company:

ECOMAX RMC Limited is a newly established Concrete business in Hamilton, New Zealand, dedicated to providing sustainable and low carbon concrete solutions. We are committed to reducing the environmental impact of construction while delivering high-quality products and exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Strategic Leadership: Develop and execute the company's strategic goals and business plans to establish and sustainably grow the low carbon business in Hamilton. 

2. Strategic Partnership: Identify and establish strategic partnerships with suppliers, contractors, and construction companies to ensure a reliable supply chain for low carbon concrete.

3. Business Development: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, partnerships, and market expansion strategies to increase market share and drive revenue growth. Collaborate with marketing and sales teams to promote and position the low carbon concrete business as a leader in sustainable construction.

4. Operational Management: Oversee the day-to-day operations including production, distribution, quality control, logistics, maintenance, and health and safety.

5. Team Management: Provide strong leadership to the entire team, fostering a culture of excellence, teamwork, and continuous improvement. 

6. Financial Management: Manage the financial performance of the company, including budgeting, cost control, forecasting, and financial analysis. Implement measures to optimise revenue, reduce costs, and maximize profitability.

7. Customer Relationship Management: Maintain strong relationships with key customers, understand their needs, and ensure high levels of customer satisfaction. Monitor market trends, customer feedback, and competitors to adapt strategies accordingly.

8. Regulatory Compliance: Oversee the production, quality control, and delivery of low carbon concrete, ensuring compliance with industry standards and environmental regulations.

9. Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with key stakeholders, including government agencies, industry associations, suppliers, and contractors, to foster positive relationships and drive mutual benefits.

10. Reporting and Communication: Provide regular reports on the company's operational and financial performance, market trends, and strategic initiatives. Stay updated with industry trends, technologies, and best practices related to low carbon concrete production and supply.

Skills and Experience:

- Proven experience in a senior role within the construction industry or a related field (with a focus on concrete production and supply)

- Proven track record in business development and sales within the construction materials industry.

- Degree in Engineering, Business Administration, or a related field. (desirable but not essential)

- Strong business acumen with a track record of successfully driving revenue growth and achieving financial targets.

- Excellent leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse workforce.

- Sound knowledge of cement manufacturing processes, quality control standards, and relevant regulatory requirements.

- Knowledge of environmental regulations and sustainability practices in the construction sector.

- Strategic mindset with the ability to analyse market trends, identify growth opportunities, and develop effective business strategies.

- Outstanding communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills to foster positive relationships with stakeholders.

- Demonstrated problem-solving skills. 

- Proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and driving operational excellence.

- Familiarity with sustainability practices and commitment to environmental stewardship.

- Ability to work independently and make strategic decisions.
