Assistant Caretaker - Urgent Position

We are seeking a multi-skilled person to undertake Assistant Caretaker duties.

The role is a permanent, full time position and will suit someone who is reliable, physically fit, who shows initiative, with excellent communication skills that can provide support for the Property Manager and property team.

Duties will include maintenance and cleanliness of school property, cleanliness of grounds including emptying rubbish bins, security of buildings and the movement of deliveries, furniture and equipment within the school.

Freyberg High School is a co-educational state secondary school, Years 9-13, located in Palmerston North with a roll of approx. 1100 students.

Please Note: In accordance with the Education & Training Act 2020 and the Children's Act 2014, and as such the appointment will be subject to satisfactory police vetting check. Full New Zealand residency is required for this position.

This is a permanent position for 8 hours per day, 5 days a week. Pay rate and terms and conditions of employment will be those set out in the School Caretakers’, Cleaners’, Canteen and Ground Staff Collective Agreement.
