Assistant Maintenance Manager

This is a critical role to assist the Maintenance manager and team within the Hotel with a focus on protecting and maintaining the owner investment, to ensure safety and comfort of guests during their stay and to allow staff and contractors to effectively and safely carry out their roles of caring for our guests. Previous general maintenance experience  in hotels or serviced facilities of 6 months or a trade background.

Able to deal with a variety of tasks and repairs around the hotel and in the hotel rooms.

Assist in maintaining all areas of the hotel maintenance and grounds: large commercial kitchen, restaurant, bar, lobby, meeting room, guest rooms, building and all associated equipment.

• Being flexible and adaptable to deal with day to day maintenance issues and breakdowns.
• Work in day-today operation of the maintenance requirements of the hotel unsupervised: responsibilities include Gib stopping, carpentry, plumbing, painting and electrical testing and other requirements of the hotel.
• Ensure all required tasks are completed accurately and within given time frames
• Liaise closely with Front Desk and Housekeeping regarding ‘down’ rooms to return to inventory
• Preventive maintenance throughout the hotel to ensure standards are maintained for guest comfort.
• Able to assist with planning for projects
• Ensure all maintenance staff are competent in the safe and effective use of equipment and chemicals
• Assist with the management of contractors on site, inductions and relevant licenses held
• Salary 68,000 - 70,000 per year
