Job Description - Assistant Store Manager - Opportunity to Make a Difference

VAPELAB is Wellington’s leading Specialist Vape Retailer. Since 2016 we have successfully helped thousands of people both here in New Zealand and abroad transition to a healthier lifestyle by trading traditional cigarettes for vaping. 

We are currently seeking a dynamic Assistant Store Manager to help motivate, lead and inspire our sales team to deliver outstanding customer service and achieve exceptional sales results. 

This is a full-time, permanent position working 30-40 hours per week. The successful applicant must be available to work weekend shifts and late nights as necessary.

This is a varied role that will entail a combination of general managerial duties, administrative tasks, retail sales and online fulfilment, supporting our Retail Manager. It is best suited to someone who is positive, confident and motivated, with a passion for customer service. Good attention to detail, as well as the ability to self-motivate, are key. You should have an excellent work ethic and outstanding organisational skills. Full training will be provided although prior experience in a management role is preferable. 

 

We are looking for someone who can;

  • Work closely alongside management to oversee and contribute to the daily operations and performance of the stores.
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with customers and contribute to the company’s values and culture of achieving a smoke-free New Zealand by 2025.
  • Achieve personal sales targets by achieving excellence in customer satisfaction and assisting in achieving store targets.
  • Contribute and add value to the team by demonstrating a willing, ‘can-do’ attitude.
  • Focus on attention to detail, diligence and maximising efficiency and time.
  • Willingly adapt and learn new skills to grow personally and professionally within the organisation.
  • Anticipate needs, self-manage and work under pressure during busy periods

Specific Responsibilities:

  • Assist with inventory procurement and management.
  • Assist with managing, motivating & training the retail team - train, develop and mentor staff as necessary in line with company policies and procedures.
  • Communicate across the retail team any policy or procedural updates, product information and general updates.
  • Assist with online order fulfilment as necessary. 
  • Assist with providing customer support when necessary across all support channels including email and social media. 
  • Ensure visual merchandising and store presentation are maintained to a high standard.
  • With the support of senior management, oversee and ensure store compliance with our regulatory obligations.
