Service:  Audiology

Contract:  Permanent, Full-time 80 hours per fortnight (1.0 FTE)

Our services are provided from purpose-built facilities at the Hawke’s Bay Hospital in Hastings. We have outreach clinics based in Wairoa and support our Ear Nose and Throat department with clinics that operate from their rooms in Ahuriri, Napier.

We offer exceptional support for new graduates who are looking to obtain their Clinical Certificate of Competence and Paediatric Certification through the New Zealand Audiological Society. We can also support overseas graduates who are looking to gain membership to the New Zealand Audiological Society. Our team is committed to nurturing your growth, providing guidance, and ensuring a seamless transition into the field. This role has leadership opportunities available for those that are interested in being involved in service development and improvement.

We are a small and supportive team providing a full range of diagnostic and rehabilitative services to the Hawke’s Bay community. We predominantly see children and young adults in our clinic. We aim to provide quality diagnostic assessments and a whanau centred multidisciplinary approach to rehabilitation for children identified with hearing loss.

We have the capacity for 4 audiologists and 2 administration support to make up the team. We work closely with our Newborn Hearing screening team, our ENT colleagues as well as our Advisors on Deaf Children and Ko Taku Reo Resource Teachers of the Deaf. We have strong links to other audiology departments across the country.

You will be someone who has proven excellence in clinical practice and be interested in continuous professional development. An interest in working with paediatrics.

You will be a full member of the New Zealand Audiological Society or be eligible for provisional membership, with a view to obtaining full membership after a period of supervision. We are happy to offer supervision to support you to obtain CCC qualification and Paediatric certification.
