Your Role

As an Automation Engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing, developing, implementing, and providing ongoing support for our automation systems that enhance efficiency and productivity for our clients. You will collaborate with a talented team of engineers and work on diverse projects that challenge your skills and expand your expertise.

Key Responsibilities

• Design and develop automation solutions that meet client requirements and industry standards.
• Implement and commission automated systems, ensuring seamless integration with existing processes.
• Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues related to automation systems as well as providing ongoing service and support.
• Provide technical support and training to clients and team members. 
• We are a flexible team, so there are opportunities and an expectation to work across various sub-disciplines.
• Be part of developing company processes and best practices.
• Be open to occasional travel for project commissioning.
• Be able to work independently and as part of a team, aligned with our company values.

Skills and Experience 

• Tertiary qualification in a relevant field (automation, mechatronics, electrical, process, etc.).
• 3-5 years of experience in automation engineering or a related role.
• Experience with PLCs, HMIs, SCADA and industrial automation software.
• Functional Description creation and review.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience with the Beckhoff platform is an advantage.
• Experience in Process industries will be an advantage.
• Experience with OT networking and IIoT will be an advantage.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Must be eligible to work in NZ.
