  • Lead and grow a Quality Assurance team, supporting our autonomous lift truck development teams.

  • Drive improvements in testing processes and technologies.
  • Be part of a global team with a supportive culture, flexible core hours, and allowance for some remote work.

About Your Role

The Automation Quality Manager ensures the ongoing delivery of our mobile automation solutions. You will be responsible for applying the best quality assurance principles and practices throughout the product development lifecycle - developing methods and procedures to identify problems or deficiencies in our automation products. While software is a major part of our solution, it runs on our own hardware on vehicles designed by us, working in the real world, where the rules of physics and safety standards apply. You'll have a deep appreciation of real-world testing challenges and strategies to address these challenges.

You will be adept at preparing product application requirements, specifications, and test suites with the ability to support our global team. This work will encompass manual and automatic regression testing as new software and hardware products and versions are developed.

Additionally, you will provide technical leadership to our development teams who are striving to deliver the best solutions possible. You will support and guide others in setting up, performing, and maintaining tests while staying informed of advances and pertinent changes in software tools, processes, and technologies.

You will help mature our QA processes in line with global standards. There is scope to apply your vision and creativity to help implement effective processes and procedures to ensure the ongoing delivery of quality solutions. Every day will be an opportunity for you to learn something new.

Efforts You'll Encourage

Timely Releases - Drive changes in the requirements documentation process to improve release testability, helping define release testing procedures and creating test result overviews for release candidates.

Continuous improvement - Develop and track meaningful performance metrics appropriate for each development phase, e.g. test hours, throughput, intervention rate, defects, and change requests.

Process insight - Maintain operational metrics such as test coverage and test execution time and development metrics such as velocity and rate of change requests.

Focused test effort - Clearly identify system functions that need / benefit from physical or manual testing (e.g. driving performance). Assist developers in writing automated test cases where appropriate to increase regression test coverage.

About You

  • Have you been leading a small team, or perhaps you are ready to take the next step in your QA career?
  • Do you have experience testing automated hardware, mobile automation or robotics?
  • Are you ready for a varied environment, testing developer features, driving process improvement, and working on real robots?

'Ideal' skillset:

  • Regulated industry experience
  • Proven experience releasing automation technologies to the market
  • Proven experience using Hardware in the Loop testers
  • Proven experience with real-world testing using target hardware
  • Willingness to be 'hands-on' in both defining and testing our product requirements
  • C++, Python, C knowledge
  • Experience working with global teams
  • Proficiency in test automation tools and frameworks
  • Excellence in documentation
  • Experience with continuous integration and deployment pipelines

We do not expect you to be an expert in all these areas, but consistent performance, a willingness to learn and commitment to results is highly valued.

Minimum Qualifications & Experience

• BE or equivalent

• 7-10 years experience in relevant industry (automation, compliance)
