Our client is seeking an experienced Backend Developer with team leadership experience to work as part of a small, fast-paced, close-knit team developing backend applications that contribute to customer products. This is an exciting opportunity for the right person to grow with the company. Therefore, there is a need to not only have the technical skills but also have a natural commercial and customer-centricity focus and be the right fit within the team.   
  
Using your experience, you will follow and improve best practices for backend development, accurately translate user and business requirements into functional code, and work closely with the team to build the best products. 
 
With a proven track record of developing backend applications, you will contribute to the planning of new projects, products, and features to explore technologies ahead of implementation.  Working within a small, dynamic company, you will enjoy the diversity of the role, adding value to customers.  
  
To be successful in this role you will have experience and be familiar with AWS, node.js and Python, as well as the following: 

• Enterprise-scale environments 
• Banking or financial systems
• Team leadership / technical leadership
• Communicating complex technical concepts concisely  
• Commercial, customer-centric and business outcome focus 
• Experience working within regulated compliance-based environments
