BAS Accountants - Assistant/Manager - CHCH
My client has a national presence in the accounting market and is seeking a highly skilled and experienced BAS Assistant/Manager to help lead their dynamic finance team in Christchurch. As a Manager at the firm, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements, and providing strategic insights to drive the company's continued growth and success. Responsibilities:
- Manage the preparation and analysis of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
- Conduct monthly and quarterly financial closings, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in line with GAAP principles.
- Oversee the general ledger and maintain accurate and detailed accounts.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and tax filings, working closely with external auditors and tax advisors.
- Develop and implement internal controls and procedures to safeguard company assets and mitigate financial risks.
- Provide financial analysis and insights to support key business decisions, including budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to streamline financial processes and improve overall efficiency.
- Mentor and supervise junior accounting staff, providing guidance and fostering their professional development.
Requirements: - Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Must be in New Zealand or have the right to work in New Zealand due to border restrictions.
- Your CA/CPA qualification is preferred but not required.
- Proven experience as a Assistant/Manager or in a similar role
- In-depth knowledge of accounting principles, regulations, and best practices.
- Strong proficiency in financial analysis, financial modeling, and forecasting techniques.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
