BaySwim Swim Teacher

Bay Venues …. Haven’t heard of us? Not to worry; I bet you have heard of some of the venues we own or operate – the iconic Mount Hot Pools, Baywave, or Mercury Baypark to name a few. This is a great opportunity for an energetic person to join a top NZ Learn 2 Swim team, working with kids in a fun, supportive, and like-minded environment. 

As Swim Teacher you will teach a variety of levels from complete beginner to highly competent school aged swimmers. Your primary role is to deliver swimming lessons to swimmers of all ages, to teach both in and out of the water and LOVE doing what you are doing! This is a part time position with ability to grow. You do not need any experience in Swim Teaching – BaySwim will provide all training necessary.  

Interviews will be concluded by the 9th May and will include a 1hr in water trial shadowing & supporting our existing teachers.

If successful paid training will commence on Monday 12th May for the week with an assessment at the end of the week ready to start your new role on Monday 19th May. 

The successful applicant is passionate about teaching, will demonstrate the ability to communicate and interact effectively with students that have a diverse range of ages, abilities and needs. You will have the ability to work effectively both independently and as a strong and valuable part of a team.  

To be successful in this role you must:  

• Excellent verbal and communication skills, able to work with any type of person in all situations  

• Have the ability to truly engage with children and create a fun learning environment;  

• Value all swimmers equally, regardless of their ability level.  

• Love being in the water 

• have the legal right to work in New Zealand.  

Desirable but not a necessity:  

• Previous experience and success as a Teacher/Swim Coach 

• A good level of coaching technical skill
