Job Description - Bi-Lingual Accountant (Mandarin Speaking)

Bodco Dairy is a rapidly growing manufacturer of dairy nutritional products based at Pukete, Hamilton.

As our Accountant you will be a part of a small close-knit team. This role is crucial to our financial operations, requiring a detail-oriented professional who can sort and analyse information, implement effective processes, and truly make the role their own. 

Position Purpose: 

To ensure the coordinated and integrated delivery of all financial and management accounting processes and reporting through the active engagement with all other BODCO teams and key stakeholders.

To lead and manage company secretarial duties in conjunction with external parties, including preparation and collation of director and board packs.

From time to time, this role may require you to step in as 2nd In Charge to the Financial Controller.

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Manage month-end balance sheet reconciliation and reporting.  
  • Develop and implement systems, processes and SOP’s.
  • Ensure the accurate delivery of quarterly/monthly financial reporting to agreed standards.
  • Participate in the annual audit process and ensure all Audit and Risk reporting requirements are met.
  • Ensure the coordinated delivery of all legislative compliance obligations, such as PAYE, GST, FBT, RWT & other taxes.
  • Ensure the preparation and delivery of all management accounting reports and ensure reporting consistently meets statutory, professional and organisational standards. 
  • Responsible for Capex and Fixed Asset Process, reconciliations, and approval process to ensure budget and forecasted spend is up to date.
  • Cost centre reporting against budgets to support managers and assist in overall financial control.

Key Skills Required for this Role Include:

  • Strong working knowledge of computer systems SAP and Excel.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, organisational and time management skills. 
  • Strong analytical and abstract reasoning abilities.
  • A Self-motivated natural problem solver who can adapt to any situation.
  • Always delivers on deadlines and are calm under pressure. 
  • Care about the detail and accuracy required in performing detailed tasks. 
  • Keen to follow processes that achieve consistent results and will suggest improvements when required.
  • Comprehensive understanding of tax and regulatory requirements.
  • Demonstrated ability to implement and improve financial processes.
  • Able to engage and communicate with people across the wider business and suppliers both in oral and written medium. 
  • Fluent in both English and Mandarin.

Background and Qualifications:

  • Relevant tertiary qualification. 
  • Qualified Accountant, Chartered Accountant (CA) qualification is desirable.
  • Minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience in a senior accounting position.
  • Advanced knowledge of financial and management accounting.
  • Proven ability to plan, analyse and produce results.
  • Well-developed relationship building skills.
