The Role:

Maintain the operation of the boiler and associated equipment in a reliable and safe condition at our Wattie's site in Hornby. 

This role requires availability to work on a 24/7 basis, with on-call during out of office hours.

Your Responsibilities: 

• Boiler start up and shut downs.
• Communicate on a regular basis with all production staff.
• Complete maintenance in a safe and timely manner.
• Order coal and dispose of ash when required.
• Boiler water treatment testing and efficiency checks.
• Maintain service records and carry out computer work e.g. SOPs.
• Supervise staff and contractors on all off-season maintenance.
• Assist with training staff and developing new training pocesses.

Your Skills:

• Certificate in NZQA Energy and Chemical Operations - Boiler Operator Level 3.
• Forklift License is desirable.
• Familiar with Boiler operations and management.
• Background in engineering maintenance.
• Competent in sound decision making.
• Extensive knowledge of boilers.
• Strong communication ability.
• Familiar with the HW Resource consents.
• Computer literacy.
