Job Summary:
We are seeking a meticulous and organized Bookkeeper to oversee the company's financial data and compliance by maintaining accurate books on accounts payable and receivable, payroll, and daily financial entries and reconciliations. The ideal candidate will ensure the company's financial operations run smoothly, allowing us to focus on delivering exceptional construction services.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain and update financial records, including ledgers, invoices, receipts, and payments.
- Process accounts payable and receivable accurately and in a timely manner.
- Manage payroll processing, including calculating wages, taxes, and other deductions.
- Reconcile bank statements and ensure consistency between bank accounts and financial records.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports to assist management in decision-making.
- Assist in budgeting and forecasting activities.
- Monitor and enforce compliance with financial and tax regulations.
- Communicate with vendors and clients regarding billing inquiries and payment discrepancies.
- Collaborate with the construction project managers to track and report project costs and budgets.
- Support the preparation of documents for audits and tax filings.
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero) and MS Office, particularly Excel.
- Strong understanding of basic accounting principles and practices.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information.
- Relevant certification (e.g., Certified Bookkeeper) or degree in Accounting, Finance
