About the role

Star Hospitality

This is a senior finance leadership role, reporting to the NZ Finance Director and partnering closely with the Star CEO and leadership team to drive performance, profitability, and long‑term sustainability across the business.

As Business Control Manager – Star Hospitality, you will lead the Business Control function, providing strong commercial insight, disciplined financial governance, and clear performance visibility across a large, multi‑site hospitality network

What you’ll be doing

• Act as the strategic finance partner to the Star CEO and senior leadership team


• Own the Star P&L, delivering clear, timely performance insights


• Lead planning, budgeting, and forecasting across revenue, margin, labour, overheads and CAPEX


• Drive profitability through margin management, cost control, labour productivity and investment governance


• Strengthen venue‑level financial visibility, controls, and commercial understanding


• Ensure alignment with NZ business and HEINEKEN global governance, controls, and audit standards


• Lead and develop a high‑performing Business Control team and build finance capability across the Star business

What you’ll bring

• A degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or similar; CA/CPA preferred


• 7–10 years’ experience in commercial finance, business control, FP&A or operational finance


• Proven experience in hospitality, retail, FMCG or multi‑site environments


• Deep understanding of venue‑level drivers (revenue, COGS, labour, mix, pricing)


• Strong systems and analytics capability (SAP, AFO, Power BI, Excel)


• A pragmatic, commercially minded approach with high integrity and resilience
