Business Development - Growth-Minded Organization

We’re looking for a CONTRACTOR to work with us as a Full-Time Business Development Guru based in Wellington to help produce New Zealand’s gold standard protein. This position is a new venture for us and could turn into something special for the right person. We want someone so passionate about the food service industry that they’re always looking for new ways to serve it, and to promote and talk about innovative products. You might have been a chef, restauranteur, or food tech in a previous life, with extensive sales or business development experience.

You’ll be the face of our company in the food service environment, the one keen to deeply understand this one national customer’s problems and solve them. The one who can say: “I know exactly what you need” and then deliver.

So, what would you be doing?

• If you’re the kind of person who always knows somebody in the food service game, no matter where you go, that’s your networking skills in action. This is your chance to use it with our national client. We want you to be their ‘go to’ person for all things Zeagold.
• Take that amazing business development experience and kick it up a notch. We want the kind of person that the customer will say “I loved how you understood exactly what we want and can make it happen”.
• You are organised, meticulous and being on time, ready and prepared, is your superpower, because planning comes naturally to you.
• Travelling across the country and getting to know this customer and their people is your dream job. 
• Using software is a breeze for you.
• And because you have all these skills, you are extremely successful!
• Keeping an eye out for ways that we can do things better as a company. No, seriously. We really mean that.

What are we looking for from you?

• 3-5 years’ experience in business development. Basically, we want you to hit the ground running.
• First-hand food tech / culinary / chef experience
• Microsoft Office skills (think Word, Excel, and Outlook). 
• You know the sales process like the back of your hand. 
• You’re super comfortable with speaking and writing English.
• You’re as great with people as you are with managing your time.

Most importantly, we’re looking for someone who’s ready to rock our customer’s sock off.
