Role: Business Development/Key Account Manager - Christchurch

Reporting to: General Manager – Customer & Sales

About the role

Digital Island has ambitious growth targets, and this senior role is responsible for delivering revenue across Corporate, and Enterprise accounts using a Consultative sales approach. This person will enjoy a high-performance environment and has a strong ability to influence at all levels. 

As a Contact Centre and Collaboration expert, they will be able to use their extensive experience to help shape amazing Customer Experience outcomes for clients with a lens on innovation. They will be a “Cloud” enthusiast who is comfortable creating a narrative that generates Services and Consumption based revenues across our client base.  

This is an excellent opportunity for somebody with a ‘hunter’ mentality, who enjoys generating new opportunities and relationships, but who is also skilled at building and maintaining long-term relationships with existing clients. Key Responsibilities

  • Meeting and exceeding revenue targets, including accurately managing and forecasting sales pipeline
  • Proactively create, grow, and close new sales opportunities
  • Drive sales in Consulting, Professional and Managed Services associated with Communications, while also looking to grow our Collaboration and Contact Centre products and solutions in market
  • Creating, enabling and completing sales opportunities
  • Actively participate as an advocate for customer requirements regarding Customer Experience and Cloud Contact Centre
  • Facilitate the creation of Sales Documentation to deliver on customer requirements
  • Work closely with our Consulting and Delivery teams to provide an exceptional customer experience
  • Keep well informed of market and technology developments, including our own suite of solutions and services
  • Maintaining a positive and healthy attitude that contributes to the team and organisational growth

 

Skills and Experience to be demonstrated

The ideal candidate will have proven commercial experience in the New Zealand ICT industry in a Sales role. Critical will be an existing network of IT business contacts, a great reputation in the industry and strong references.

  • Five years of experience in cloud, ICT or software sales in Enterprise and Corporate sectors
  • Previous experience in channel management of Cloud / SaaS / Cloud Communications
  • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills
  • Exceptional at building a trusted advisor relationships with multiple client stakeholders, including C-Level, Contact Centre Managers and IT Operations.
  • Have a strong business and technical understanding of cloud solutions and the outcomes these can deliver
  • Can build trust and inspire confidence - providing value through your solutions and technical expertise 
  • Ensuring customer outcomes are a key driver
  • Enjoys working at pace and are a self-starter
  • Proven experience and existing relationships with Enterprise and Corporate clients in the South Island would be a strong advantage
