Business Relationship Manager

Chubb New Zealand is looking for a Business Relationship Manager to drive profitable growth through strong broker relationships, market insight, and commercial acumen. 

This role covers Small Commercial Property, MDBI, General Liability and Statutory Liability, and supports the Masterpiece proposition including producer training.

You’ll own

• Development and execution of a market-facing business development plan to identify and secure new opportunities
• Building and maintaining strong broker relationships, including growth initiatives with key brokers
• Managing broker engagement across new business, renewals, and portfolio opportunities
• Running structured engagement through QBRs and other regular touch points, tracking and actioning feedback
• Maintaining and report on broker metrics, visitation activity, and sales performance to support decision-making
• Working with PLMs, Actuarial, Marketing, and data analytics teams to support pricing, solution design, and deal execution

You’ll bring 

• Proven experience in insurance distribution, broker management, or business development within the general insurance market
• Strong understanding of insurance products, underwriting principles, and drivers of profitable portfolio growth
• Demonstrated ability to build and maintain effective relationships with brokers and distribution partners
• Sound commercial judgement, with the ability to identify new business opportunities and support sustainable growth
• Experience using broker performance data, submission trends, and portfolio insights to inform decisions
• Strong communication, influencing, and negotiation skills in a broker-facing environment
