Cafe Chef or Baker - Leading Industry Pay

We are looking for an experienced Chef or Baker to look after the food offering for our new cafe site in Dunedin CBD. This is an existing cafe that is about to undergo a transformation and we are looking for a special person to join the team before launch day to look after our delectable food offering. 

We are focused on producing and serving quality options for our takeaway cafe/espresso bar in Dunedin CBD. Sourcing local, seasonal ingredients is a key value for us.

Monday - Friday; Hours 5:30am - 1:30pm. No weekends, public holidays or late nights, basically a hospitality Unicorn! Pay will match experience. 

Our cafe is part of the Strictly Coffee Roastery Family, however this is a seperate site. 

About the role: - Duties and Responsibilities 

• Developing new recipes for seasonal menus 
• Prepare and Bake food items for cafe / espresso bar including: Cakes, pastry's, breads, slices, sandwiches, salads soups and more. 
• Prepare custards, sauces, chocolates, muffins, sandwiches
• Prepare customer orders and help front of house serve customers in busy times. 
• Ordering food supplies for cafe, sourcing local ingredients and working with suppliers 
• Follow work safety procedures.
• Work with a positive attitude and follow company policies

What we are looking for

• Experience working as a Baker or Chef is essential 
• Someone with a bit of flare who has a genuine passion for what you do 
• Interest in coffee, you will not be the Barista, but part of a wider organisation that is passionate about specialty coffee 
• Experience and a good understanding of food safety requirements 
• Understanding of stock control and ordering 
• Can do attitude and enjoy working as part of a team
