CASUAL - Fabricator Welders, Trades Assistants, & Carpenters

CASUAL WORK ONLY – Please note this is NOT a full-time role.

IMG is a heavy engineering company that delivers maintenance, fabrication and engineering services and a range of innovative solutions to clients throughout the North Island. 

We are always looking for energetic and proactive people to join our Kawerau casual pool. The roles we have are casual Fitter and Welders, Trades Assistants and Carpenters.

Fabricator Welders with multi coded pipe welding and general fabrication skills, knowledge and experience and the ability to readily demonstrate previous experience and competence in welding to AS1554 and ASME IX using the FCAW, MMAW and TIG processes in both plate and pipe. We are looking for experienced, ticketed fitters/welders, as well as anyone starting out in their career. Multi coded pipe welding, and ASME IX would be an advantage.

For Trades Assistants the role will be responsible for carrying out general duties as required to assist with the smooth running of the Site, and to support project work and shut work as directed. The role will also assist with general housekeeping and site maintenance duties.

Lastly, we are looking for Carpenters that are trade qualified that is able to work at various sites undertaking civil activities on project and shutdown work.

About you (dependent on role):

• Be a capable Fabricator Welder, Trades Assistant or Carpenter


• Have a proactive attitude toward working safely and maintaining a safe working environment


• Be self motivated and have the ability to work quickly and accurately to meet deadlines


• Understand and interpret detailed fabrication drawings and symbols


• Have the ability to be prepared work overtime when required


• Understand that business success is a prime outcome of continued customer satisfaction


• Be a team player


• Have excellent timekeeping and a good attendance record
