Job Description Responsibilities • Be familiar with daily and ongoing menus, functions, specials etc. • Ensure the food is presented, portioned and garnished correctly • Cook ethnic Indian dishes of tandoori dishes, and authentic South i ndian dishes • Assist with the serving sizes, portioning and quality of food preparation • Make gravies, sauces and marination for the curries and other dishes • Prepare the food as per the request of customers with dietary requirements • Ensuring consistent food taste are delivered to customers • Check freshness of food and ingredients • Keep the stocks ready for service • To preserve the food in the chiller and freeze • Conduct required training of Kitchen Hand and other support staff • Ensure that all tools and equipment's are kept clean • Follow the maintenance and health and safety issues • Ensure the safety standards in the workplace are maintained Position Details: • Length of employment: Full-time and permanent position. • Work location: Dunedin • Hours: 30 hours per week • Payrate: $29.70 TO 31.70 The successful applicant for the position must have. • Relevant diploma in hospitality or chefing or 3 years of experience in chef role • Able to work flexible hours and take up extra hours during summer • Work split shifts, weekends and public holidays • Good team player with good communication skills
