Chef In charge of Cuisine

CASABLANCA is a popular Restaurant in the heart of Sylvia Park 

Our well known Restaurant is looking for a chef(s) that can deliver and oversee the levels of quality cuisine at a fast pace.

We are seeking a High Level chef with specialty experience in Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine - you will be based in our Casablanca Sylvia Park store.

We are all about delivering an excellent guest experience and as such we are seeking a Chef who is able to assist and ensure an AUTHENTIC flavour profile in all of our dishes. 

We would like someone with EXTENSIVE knowledge of Turkish, Moroccan and Middle Eastern Cuisines to work alongside our Head and Executive Chefs.

We need a chef who can demonstrate at least 3 years of previous experience with high volume cooking and Kitchen Leadership - relevant qualifications in cookery are a bonus. 

The job duties will include the following: 

• overseeing and ensuring correct flavour profiles. 
• planning menus and estimating food costs 
• training junior and upskilling senior chefs to recognise and maintain recipe protocols.
• monitoring the quality of dishes served 
• demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures 
• preparing and cooking food 
• explaining and enforcing hygiene regulations 
• Regulating temperature of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment 
• Storing and maintaining food
• Maintaining the kitchen to the highest standard of clenliness
• Maintain food safety and sanitation standards 
• Ability to work effectively in a busy environment 
• Handle and store ingredients and food 
• Adhere to all company policies and procedures 

Salary range for the position $30 + per hour dependent on experience. The candidate must be a NZ resident or citizen and must have the legal right to work here in NZ.
