Job Description - Chef / Kitchen Manager - Room for Advancement

We are in need of an adaptable Chef / Kitchen Manager to join our passionate team at Sunrise Healthcare Limited in Auckland CBD, Auckland.

Sunrise Healthcare Limited is a medium sized age care provider, we operate several branches across Auckland. We are a privately owned business aiming to deliver the best care we can possibly provide to our residents.

We are currently seeking experienced Cooks / Chefs / Kitchen Managers for multiple branches.

If you are a successful applicant, it is only intended you work at one branch for your regular work, we do not expect you to typically travel across Auckland.

Westmere branch - Creating delicious meals for up to 44 residents, we are able to offer a full time role for this position

Herne Bay branch - Creating delicious meals for up to 46 residents, we are able to offer a full time role for this position

We are also currently taking expressions of interests for those who may be in the area for our Hobsonville (up to 72 residents) and Devonport (up to 20 residents) branches. These branches can offer a part time or full time role for those positions.

Please be advised you must already have valid working rights in New Zealand. We cannot assist you with any visa for this role.

About You:

  • Excellent customer and people relationship skills
  • A positive ‘can do attitude’, always ready to go the extra mile
  • A team first attitude
  • Strong time management and leadership skills - you're someone who takes ownership and accountability
  • Respect for resident confidentiality
  • The ability to work rostered shifts
  • Cost control and stock management experience
  • Experience with FCP verification is highly desirable

About the Role:

  • Managing the kitchen team to prepare and provide meal service for residents.
  • Oversee and manage kitchen operations.
  • Ensure Food Control Plans are maintained and audit ready at all times.
  • Lead the team to successful outcomes.
  • This is a hands-on role where you will also be cooking yourself.
  • Social working hours for great work life balance - depending on your facility this could be a 0700 to 1500 role or a 0800 to 1700 role. Times can be slightly adjusted for the right candidate.
