A new opportunity to work in Porirua’s main hub has opened, experienced chefs are wanted.

A new complex is opening in Porirua and we are in need of expanding our team to fit the conditions of the potentially demanding shopfront. Whether you are an experienced Chef wanting to take the reigns of a new adventure or a fresh starting chef wanting to start working in the industry we want to meet you. 

We are on the lookout for the industry’s best, or see themselves thriving in Hospitality, positions covering from Head Chef Sous Chef, Kitchen hands and Front of house are all needed.

Hospitality is a demanding field, and we need people quick on their feet and are willing to adapt on the spot, some big areas that need to be well maintained include, Cost Management: The ability to monitor quality of stock and decrease wastage, maintain an accurate reading of stock levels and what is needed on a day to day basis. Team Player: Staff are the most important part of our business, having a good team that works well with each other is essential to creating a successful environment. Cooking: And of course, cooking is another essential part, being willing to learn from your peers and apply your existing knowledge will be key to creating a positive workplace for everyone.

Some more skills we expect or would like you to pick up while working with us are:

• Prior experience in kitchen ordering and stock control.
• Prepping the ingredients for the shift.
• Demonstrate ability in different styles of cooking including Wok cooking.
• Demonstrate initiative to improve the dining experience.
• Main chef in charge of the kitchen or being a reliable team member depending on the chef role applying.
• Keep the kitchen clean and tidy with accordance to health and safety regulations.
• Great communication with staff.
• Pay Ranges from $26-$32 depending on your skillset and abilities.
