If you’re someone who knows aviation inside out – whether you come from commercial flying, defence, or the UAS sector — and you enjoy seeing people learn, grow and master new skills, we would love to hear from you.

At Fenix UAS we are passionate about the drone industry.  We set the standard for professionalism, excellence and safety in unmanned aviation across NZ and the Pacific.  As our Chief Examiner, you’ll oversee the delivery and continuous improvement of our training programmes, including UAS Remote Pilot certificates and 101 Fundamentals. You’ll make sure every course is safe, compliant, and delivered to a high standard — and that every learner walks away confident, capable, and supported. You’ll set the tone for quality, help shape how we teach, and use your technical judgement to lift our standards even further.

This is a full-time role with some travel around NZ so you get the perfect mix of being out in the field and in the office. 

What you bring:

You have a strong grasp of aviation rules (CAA) and the ability to make complex regulations easy to understand. Previous experience in a teaching or training environment, particularly instructional techniques would be an advantage.

Leadership experience is ideal, but what matters most is your ability to guide people well, make sound decisions, and bring a calm, steady presence to the work.
