About the organisation
Hospice Mid-Northland and Far North Community Hospice are dedicated to providing compassionate and comprehensive palliative care to patients and families in our community. We strive to enhance the quality of life for those facing life-limiting illnesses through expert medical care, emotional support, and holistic services. Position Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Chief Executive to lead our hospices. The ideal candidate will be a strategic thinker with a strong commitment to palliative care and the ability to inspire and manage a diverse team. The CEO will play a critical role in shaping the future of our services, fostering community partnerships, and ensuring financial sustainability.
Key Responsibilities
  • Leadership & Vision: Provide strategic leadership and vision to ensure the hospice meets its mission and goals.
  • Operational Management: Oversee daily operations, ensuring high standards of care and service delivery.
  • Financial Stewardship: Manage budgets, financial planning, and resource allocation to ensure long-term sustainability.
  • Community Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with community partners, donors, and stakeholders.
  • Compliance & Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and maintain accreditation standards.
  • Team Development: Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, supporting professional development and staff well-being.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Proven experience in a senior leadership role, preferably within healthcare or a related field.
  • Demonstrated success in strategic planning, financial management, and operational oversight.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • A deep commitment to the principles and practices of palliative care.
  • Experience in fundraising and community relations is highly desirable.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in business, healthcare management, or a related discipline.
