Chief Financial Officer

We have an exciting new opportunity for an experienced Chief Financial Officer to join us in this crucial role in developing financial strategy and acting as a financial and commercial advisor to Council and our Executive Leadership team.

The successful candidate will have the chance to work closely with our CEO, Group Managers, Council, and external stakeholders, making this position ideal for those looking to make a significant impact within our community.

We're not just looking for someone who is "good with the numbers" though - this role is as much about our people as it is about the financials. We are looking for someone who is values driven, who can partner with the leadership team across and build relationships with people at all levels.

As the Chief Financial Officer, you will play a pivotal role in shaping the financial future of the organisation. You will be responsible for:

• Overall leadership and stewardship of the financial strategy.
• Shaping the team and set it up for success.
• Continuing to enhance and implement robust best practice and processes
• Overseeing budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Working with internal and external stakeholders
• Oversight of the audit of Council's annual reports, long term plans and activities.
• Ensuring compliance and statutory requirements are met.

The ideal candidate for the Chief Financial Officer role will bring a wealth of experience and a proven track record in financial leadership in a public sector organisation. You will be a Chartered Accountant, your strong leadership skills, combined with excellent communication and negotiation abilities, will enable you to effectively lead the finance and rates teams along with liaising with key stakeholders. With over 10 years of experience in accounting you will have the expertise to oversee the financial operations and implement effective strategies to ensure long term success.
