Job Title: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Location: Takanini, Auckland
Role Description: The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) is a pivotal executive role, serving as the second-in-command to the CEO and a key member of the senior management team. This position is instrumental in ensuring robust financial and commercial disciplines are maintained, enhancing profitability, and ensuring efficient operations within a dynamic setting in the freight/logistics sectors.
Internal Relationships: - Board of Directors
- CEO
- Senior Managers across Operations, Sales, HR, and IT
Role Purpose: The CFO will collaborate closely with the CEO and the board to drive the company's financial strategy, manage business risks through enhanced health and safety practices, insurance, and regular audits. The role includes boosting business performance by establishing and guiding strategic KPIs across all divisions and fostering a culture that attracts and retains top talent. As a change leader, the CFO will spearhead transformation initiatives that align with the company’s strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities: - Spearhead the development of business and divisional strategies, ensuring alignment with the overall business objectives.
- Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements.
- Lead commercial negotiations, manage key contracts, and maintain relationships with third-party vendors and stakeholders.
- Drive continuous improvement in financial processes and systems, adhering to best practices and legal compliance.
- Manage the Treasury function, coordinate with bankers and financial advisors, and oversee the company's financial transactions and risk management strategies.
- Act as a change leader, initiating and guiding significant transformations that enhance efficiency and competitiveness.
Qualifications and Experience: - A tertiary qualification in Finance or related field; postgraduate or MBA is highly desirable.
- Certification as a Chartered Accountant (CA) or equivalent.
- At least 10 years of experience in senior financial roles, preferably within the transport, logistics, or manufacturing sectors.
- Proven capability in strategic planning, risk management, and operational execution.
- Excellent leadership qualities, with a track record of mentoring teams and fostering a positive corporate culture.
