Mott MacDonald New Zealand has grown significantly over the past 12 months, to over 300 strong and now houses a team of experts who enjoy sharing success in delivering awesome projects such as Christchurch's Te Kaha Stadium, Lake Onslow Pumped Hydro Scheme Feasibility, Seascape Tower, Auckland Airport upgrades, and numerous complex wastewater treatment plants across New Zealand.

Our Water sector has a large community of three waters engineers across New Zealand, as well as internationally through our global business.
We are a wholly independent, employee-owned, global engineering, management and development consultancy with strong local leadership and autonomy.

Our Wellington based Water team works on a variety of water and multidisciplinary projects across the south of the North Island, whilst also working closely with our Auckland and Christchurch based colleagues.

The role, what you will do.

Our Water team in Wellington is fast growing and we are looking for an established Civil Engineer with experience in wastewater, stormwater and/or potable water systems to join us in delivering exciting projects across New Zealand, with a specific focus on the Wellington Region.

As a key member of our multidisciplinary team this opportunity would see you preparing concept and detailed civil engineering designs, producing technical and commercial specifications, drawings, and schedules on a range of projects.
With mentoring from our Senior and Principal Engineers, you would also work in close partnership with the client and contractors through design phases and into construction monitoring.

Your contribution will help to continue to grow our presence in the Wellington Region as well as improve access to three waters infrastructure, public health, and the local environment through the projects we deliver.

This role will be pivotal in further developing our existing team. It's a fantastic opportunity to progress your technical and management skills through your project work and build on-site experience with great prospects for career progression as the business continues to grow.

About You:

The ideal candidate for this role will have a bachelor’s degree in engineering (Civil) and experience in three waters design. Additionally, expertise in hydraulic pipeline design is necessary, and familiarity with 3D modelling design software would also be advantageous but not mandatory.
Your passion for delivering high quality water projects for our communities, and the ability and energy to work in a team environment is highly desirable. Your well-developed interpersonal skills with an ability to influence and guide key stakeholders will set you up for success from the start of your career at Mott MacDonald.

You've got this!

This is a great opportunity to join a global consultancy that is growing and is pushing ahead in the local market. If you are looking for an opportunity to work in a fast-growing business with an organisation that is shaping the communities in which we live, then we would encourage you to apply for the above position and join our world class consultancy.
We offer you all the benefits that come from working in a global consultancy, including a competitive salary, flexible work arrangements, enhanced Kiwi Saver contributions, ongoing professional support, career development and a great opportunity to work on key projects. We are committed to fostering a culture that empowers our people, promotes teamwork and embraces sustainability.

If you don't tick every box in this ad, please don't rule yourself out. We focus on hiring people who share our values of inclusion, collaboration, adaptability, and integrity. So, if this role resonates with you, please send through your application.

Equality, diversity and inclusion

We put equality, diversity and inclusion at the heart of our business, seeking to promote fair employment procedures and practices to ensure equal opportunities for all. We encourage individual expression in our workplace and are committed to creating an inclusive environment where everyone feels they have the opportunity to contribute.

At Mott MacDonald, we believe it makes business sense for you and your manager to choose how you can work most effectively to meet your client, team and personal commitments. We embrace agility, flexibility and trust.
