Job Description - Client Partner, Sales (Director)

Position Overview: As a ClientPartner, you will play a pivotal role in driving business growth and maintaining strong relationships with our Product & Resources and Communication industry clients in New Zealand. This senior-level position requires a seasoned professional who can combine strategic thinking, relationship management, and business acumen to deliver exceptional value to our clients. You'll be responsible for a significant portion of our P&R/Communications portfolio, with the opportunity to shape its growth trajectory. Key Responsibilities: Relationship Building and Account Management Cultivate and nurture strong relationships with C-Level executives and decision makers within multiple key P&R/Communcations Industry accounts. Understand client needs, pain points, and strategic objectives to position Cognizant as a trusted partner. Oversee, nurture, and grow a portfolio of key accounts (circa $10m-$15m USD+) Develop account plans, set growth targets, and execute strategies to expand your account portfolio. Implement a multi-pronged approach to revenue growth (incremental Staff-Aug, reactive & proactive proposals etc). Financial Management and Account Health: Run the commercial P&L for your portfolio. Maximize margins while protecting revenue. Monitor account health, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies. Strategic Account Farming: Continuously & proactively engage with existing accounts for upsell and cross-sell opportunities. Develop, implement, and maintain long-term strategies to maximize client lifetime value. Navigating Organisational Complexity Navigate the complexities of a large, matrixed Global System Integrator or Technology Consulting organisation. Collaborate with onshore and offshore teams, guide them in achieving business objectives. Leverage cross-functional expertise to drive client success. Thought Leadership and Innovation: Shape the thought leadership agenda within the P&R/Communications sector. Actively drive execution of the innovation agenda for the account. Visibility and Brand Building Develop & implement plans to increase the visibility of Cognizant within your accounts. Vendor Relationship Management: Cultivate strong partnerships with sector technology providers, vendors, and hyperscalers (such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud). Understand vendor product roadmaps, capabilities, and pricing models. Leverage these relationships to enhance our service offerings and provide innovative solutions to clients. Preferred Qualifications Minimum 15+ years in P&R and/or the communications industry, in a client-facing role or account leadership role, within IT professional services, management consulting, or technology consulting firms. Experience leading diverse teams and cultivating collaboration in a multi-cultural environment. Strong experience with the global service delivery model. Understanding of technology domains (Cloud, Agile, Data Modernization, etc.) and services solutions specific to target industry verticals. A strong performance track record across various portfolios, including sales, new sales, programs, and existing annuity business. Ability to navigate a large organization, work in a multifaceted matrix, and influence through content and confidence. Demonstrated ability to lead a client P&L of $30m+, including reporting and metric assessment for the accounts. Proficiency in conceptualizing, analysing, and building blueprints for business transformations, particularly in the P&R/Communications domains.
