We are excited to offer an experienced senior registered nurse a rare opportunity to join our client's highly skilled Advanced Nursing Team as a Clinical Nurse Advisor. This role is ideal for a dedicated and passionate nurse who wants to significantly impact patient care and staff development.
About The Role
As a Clinical Nurse Advisor, you will be an essential part of the Advanced Nursing Team. You will use your advanced assessment and clinical skills to manage staff and facility issues after hours. You will be the first responder to clinical emergencies and support your colleagues in escalating care and managing clinical deterioration.
Weekday shifts are 10 hours in the evening, and weekend shifts are 12 hours, either days or nights.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide leadership and oversight of operational activities during after-hours and weekends.
- Offer specialist, evidence-based clinical support and expertise at the bedside, ensuring safe and effective care.
- Advocate on behalf of patients, families, and colleagues.
- Use advanced assessment skills to support the clinical evaluation of patients causing concern and escalate as appropriate.
- Monitor and adjust staffing levels to maintain safe staffing.
- Liaise with our client's in-house Bureau to effectively manage bed allocations and casual staffing.

Ideal Candidate
- Current broad clinical experience with a high level of clinical expertise and leadership.
- Experience in the ICU/HDU or Emergency Department within a New Zealand or Australian hospital setting.
- Advanced clinical skills, including cannulation, phlebotomy, ECG, and catheterization.
- ACLS certification.
- Completed or in the process of studying a post-graduate advanced clinical pathway.
