Clinical Nurse Specialist - Infection Prevention and Control Full-time permanent position available with the Infection Prevention& Control (IPC) teamRegistered Nurse with the Nursing Council of New Zealand with acurrent APCShould have the ability to work Monday to Friday between 08:00 -16:30 hrs (roster to be based on IPC Service needs in negotiation withsuccessful applicant)Mo te tunga |About the roleTe Ratonga Arai Mate - Infection Prevention andControl Service is currently recruiting for a Clinical Nurse Specialist to joinour dynamic team with a lot of interesting professional opportunities for theright candidate.In this role, you would provide advice on infectionprevention and control measures to ensure the safety of patients, staff andvisitors to our healthcare facilitators as a member of the transalpine IPCService for Te Tai o Poutini West Coast and Waitaha Canterbury. You will guideand support staff in clinical areas, laboratories and maintenance andengineering to implement appropriate IPC practices in their work areas tominimise risk of infection transmission.Ko wai koe |About YouYou will be given the opportunity to gain knowledgeand expertise across the IPC core business areas of this exciting specialtyarea of nursing practice including: Built Environment and Healthcare FacilityDesign, Education, Environmental Management, Reprocessing of Reusable MedicalDevices, Surveillance and Vascular Access.Your ability to work effectively both autonomously and within amultidisciplinary team in a variety of situations with both individualsand groups is imperative in this service as you are responsible forproviding IPC advice, education and recommendations to clinical staffacross a wide variety of disciplines.Your clinical knowledge and experience in addition to diplomacy,respect and professionalism, will be key to engaging with staff andpatients to ensure your success in this role.Previous experience working in infection prevention and controlwould be an advantage although is not essential."Ko nga tangata, te matua mahi - Puttingpeople at the heart of all we do"We are committed to honouring Te Tiriti o Waitangiand its principles by ensuring our partnership with Maori are at the forefrontof all our conversations.
