As a Clinical Nurse Specialist Mental Health, within the Intervention and Support Practice Team (ISPT) at Spring Hill Corrections Facility, you'll seize the opportunity to deliver specialised mental health nursing services that will enhance the well-being of those entrusted to our care. From initial triage and assessment to implementing evidence-based interventions, you'll have a pivotal role, utilising a comprehensive approach to person-centred healthcare within the prison setting. Moreover, as an integral member of our Mental Health Team, you'll immerse yourself in a vibrant, supportive environment, with access to clinical supervision and strong opportunities for professional development.This role is ideally suited to a senior nurse deeply committed to nurturing culturally safe practices and fostering collaborative partnerships. Our ISPT teams are steadfastly dedicated to epitomising expert clinical practice, prioritising principles of Humanising and Healing. We hold profound reverence for the inherent dignity and mana of all individuals and their whanau within our purview. Candidates should hold a post-graduate qualification in mental health or be actively working towards one (or possess equivalent learning). Candidates would ideally hold an expert level PDRP or be actively working towards that.Cultural competence is paramount, including a robust understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its practical application, coupled with hands-on experience working with and for Maori communities. Applicants should bring to the table specialised expertise in mental health nursing across primary/community, secondary, or tertiary settings, along with a proven history of addressing acute and complex mental health and/or addiction challenges.Lastly, a thorough understanding of the professional, ethical, and legislative facets that underpin underpinning contemporary mental health practice is crucial.The full salary range is $110,704 - $117,907. (This range will increase to $114,025 -$121,444 as of July 2024).
