Clinical Nurse Specialist - Patient at Risk Team Southland HospitalSalary band - $116,000 - $127,000 p.a. pro-rata plus Kiwisaver and car parkPermanent rolesOpportunity to join new Patient at Risk team within our Critical Care UnitOur Critical Care Unit at Southland Hospital is an open unit secondary Critical Care Unit and it is on an exciting journey of growth and development. Through the provision of new Critical Care funding from the Ministry of Health, we are in the process of aligning our secondary level unit with the College of Intensive Care Medicine, Medical and Nursing staffing standards. Our primary goal is to rapidly increase our capacity and capability, moving from our current ICU level bed and five HDU/Coronary Care beds to three ICU and three HDU/Coronary level beds to better meet the secondary Critical Care needs for Southland patients.It is an exciting time to be part of Critical Care in Te Waipounamu (the South Island) as the regional clinical network is forming. We are seeking experienced Senior Critical Care Nurses with recent contemporary Critical Care experience to join us through this period of intense change. We have various FTE opportunities available from 0.5 - 1.0 FTE. Please indicate your preference in your cover letter.Mo te turanga - About the role:Reporting to the ACNM for Patient at Risk team (PaR)Rotating eight hour shifts Monday to SundayStrive for excellence in clinical services and focus on patient centred care,Use advanced clinical skills to identify patients at risk and work closely with the primary teams to monitor and implement interventions to prevent deteriorationProvide specialist PaR nursing care and expertise both in direct care deliveryMentor staff so they too gain further knowledge and skillAct in the roles of clinician, educator, consultant, researcher, leader/change agent and care coordinator/case manager in the pursuit of clinical excellence and improved health outcomesSupported to complete the required NZ outreach nurse competency assessmentCurrent Nursing council registration and APCProven clinical nursing experience in acute or critical care, ED/ICU/HDUHolds or is working towards relevant post graduate qualificationsAdvanced learning and contemporary knowledge in either Acute Care, HDU, ED or ICU nursingCurrent Core Advanced certification - or the ability to complete as soon as possible after appointmentHold Level 4 or Senior Nurse PDRP or level 3 and working towards level 4Continuous support for career developmentSubsidised gym membership and discounted health insuranceFree on-site parkingShort work commutes - only 10-15 minutes' drive to work from anywhere in the cityAccess to discounted staff holiday accommodation in Te Anau and Central OtagoAccess to a range of retail and entertainment discountsDiscounted rates available with local Childcare providerAffordable housing and beautiful scenerySick of long commutes to work? - Southland Hospital is located within a 10 - 15 minute drive from anywhere in Invercargill and offers free car parking on site for staff.
