Our Health and Disability services focus on providing comprehensive home care support to a diverse range of clients of varying ages and need. The Clinical Services Manager will be responsible for leading a team of health professionals delivering home and community support services (HCSS) in central Auckland. This position is essential in ensuring Lifewise Health and Disability Services provides a high-quality service to our clients and stakeholders.
The Clinical Services Manager is a senior leader within the Health and Disability Service, working closely with the senior leadership team to ensure the effective delivery of Community Health Services to vulnerable individuals in their own homes. This role provides strong clinical oversight and leadership to a team of clinicians who work independently and remotely, ensuring safe, high-quality, and person-centred care.

WHAT YOU’RE RESPONSIBLE FOR
Clinical Focus:
Lead the delivery, improvement and development of Clinical Services in collaboration with the Group Quality Manager, Manager of Practice and Development, Regional Manager, and Senior Clinicians in other Lifewise services and across the Three Trusts.
Building and maintaining relationships with key internal and external stakeholders including clinicians from tertiary and secondary health services.
Ensure the clinical components of all HCSS services provided to referred clients meet both Ngā Paerewa Health and Disability Services Standard and the contractual requirements of funders.
Leading and implementing service improvement projects in relation to clinical interventions, identified by the clinical team and as directed by the service manager.
People Management:
Line management of a small team of registered clinicians.
Leading, coaching and supporting the development of a team of clinicians including performance reviews and performance management when required, and ongoing professional development.
Quality:
Overseeing the management of clinical aspects of service quality, safety and effectiveness of training and service delivery including those provided by Case Managers within the service.
Monitoring and delivery of timely responses to new referrals, and the review of service delivery plans for people already using services.
Overseeing investigations and resolution of concerns and complaints related matters of clinical safety, health, wellbeing and engagement of the HCSS whānau.
Contributing to accountability reporting to the Lifewise Executive or funders and health sector agencies such as Te Tāhū Hauora - Health Quality & Safety Commission.
Leadership:
To promote the importance of individualised care and support for people with diverse backgrounds, capabilities, health status and personal goals with all staff.
Being an active member of the Leadership team in the Health and Disability service.
Engaging effectively with individuals, families, whānau, co-workers and health professionals.
Health and Safety:
Report all incidents, accidents and near misses that occur during work
Actively participate in any health and safety initiatives and contribute to improving health and safety practices
Use any provided Personal Protective Equipment as required
Take reasonable care for your own health and safety
Take reasonable care that your acts or omissions do not adversely affect the health and safety of other persons.

WHAT SKILLS & EXPERIENCE YOU NEED
Essential:
A current NZ Registered Nurse Annual Practicing Certificate
3 - 5 post registration experience including people management as a line manager
Experience in mentoring, coaching and developing a team to deliver great outcomes for people receiving home and community using HCSS services
Ability and experience to lead, direct and continually evaluate the provision of clinical services in home and community settings
Sound management, analytical and decision-making skills
A full ‘Class 1’ New Zealand driver licence
Demonstrated knowledge and practical experience in the use of interRAI, including the ability to interpret assessments and integrate findings into care planning and service delivery.
Knowledge of Ngā Paerewa Health and Disability Services Standard and the ability to manage a robust quality system
Desirable:
Ideally managed clinical quality and safety aspects of mobile HCSS service provision to a large and diverse client group.
Excellent time management skills
Proven relationship building capability with internal and external stakeholders
Experience of designing and leading quality improvement projects
Competent with digital technologies and a range of programmes and systems
