About the Role

Vulcan is seeking a CNC Machine Operator to join our Plate Processing site in Christchurch, working a permanent night shift (Monday to Thursday 2:00pm – 12:30am-40 hours per week).

This role involves operating CNC plasma cutting equipment and handling steel plates in a fast‑paced production environment. Training will be provided for the right candidate.

Key responsibilities include:

• Operating CNC plasma cutting machines (Kinetic K2000)
• Using overhead gantry cranes and lifting equipment
• Loading/unloading steel plates and finished parts
• Monitoring cut quality and carrying out quality checks
• Labelling and processing cut parts
• Assisting with routine machine maintenance
• Keeping machines running efficiently with minimal downtime
• Working safely, independently, and as part of a night shift team

• CNC, plasma, laser, or machine operating experience (or willingness to learn)
• Overhead crane and/or forklift experience preferred (training available)
• Full driver licence (F‑endorsement an advantage)
• Strong health & safety focus
• Good attention to detail and work ethic
• Able to work unsupervised
• Physically fit and reliable
