As such my client are currently seeking a highly skilled accountant to join their dynamic team.

Job Description: As a Commercial Accountant with my client, you will be playing a pivotal role in driving financial performance and strategic decision-making. You will be responsible for overseeing various financial activities, including budgeting, forecasting, financial analysis, and reporting. Additionally, you will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to provide insights and recommendations that support their business objectives.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain financial models to support budgeting, forecasting, and strategic planning processes.
• Analyse financial data and performance metrics to identify trends, variances, and opportunities for improvement.
• Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports for senior management and stakeholders.
• Monitor key performance indicators and provide actionable insights to drive business performance.
• Partner with department heads to develop and track departmental budgets and ensure alignment with overall company objectives.
• Conduct ad-hoc financial analysis and special projects as required.
• Ensure compliance with accounting standards, regulations, and company policies.
• Mentor junior members of the finance team, fostering a culture of continuous learning and development.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CA or CPA or equivalent certification preferred.
• 3+ years of progressive experience in audit, finance or accounting roles. Could suit coming straight out of practice or 1 or 2 years in commerce.
• Strong understanding of financial principles, including budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis.
• Proficiency in financial modelling and analysis techniques.
• Advanced Excel skills; experience with financial software.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
• Proven ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
• Strong attention to detail and analytical mindset.
• Ability to think strategically and provide insights that drive business results.
