JOB DESCRIPTION

This position description provides an indicative outline of the purpose and key responsibilities and tasks of the role.

Purpose of the Role

An important strategic project has been initiated at ETEL focussed on the inventory management systems of the business from Dema nd forecasting through to despatch. The project aim is to understand current systems and to develop them to a world class state that enhance efficiency and optimise stock levels.

The project is expected to last between 1 and 2 years.

As a member of the Inventory Management strategic project team this role takes an active part in the evaluation and improvements of inventory systems.

Inventory Management Strategic Project

  • Create KPI reporting for the project and regularly update the team on progress.
  • Work with sales staff to improve sales forecast accuracy
  • Work with the project team and others to review and implement improv ed systems around inventory management ( right from Sales & Operations Planning through Scheduling/MRP through to managing raw materials, wip and finished goods ) .
  • Work with operations and supply chain to optimise EPICOR bills of materials and minimising variances.
  • Analy se inventory systems to accurately report forecast inventory lev e l s and the cash flow requirements flowing from this.
  • Analyse stock variances and MRP suggestions to improve the systems
  • Identify appropriate internal controls around inventory and ensure they are implemented
  • Document systems
  • Analyse inventory levels to work with stakeholders to minimise levels.
  • Inventory reconciliations
  • Assist to make stock counting as accurate as possible.
  • We have a new version of EPICOR called Kinetic coming in. Understand Kin e tic to see how it can improve our inventory management and work with the project team to realise this.
  • Timely, accurate and insightful reporting of project KPIs
  • T imely, accurate and insightful reporting of both historic and future cash flow demands, inventory and related KPIs
  • Inventory controls are in place and working
  • Inventory variances are clear and well explained
  • BoM accuracy and t imely, accurate and insightful reporting around this
  • Systems are clearly documented and recorded in Promapp
  • Project deliverables including deadlines are met
  • Information supplied is accurate, timely and insightful.
  • Clear and persuasive communication to ensure system changes are embedded .
  • Kinetic opportunities are optimised

Administration and support within the finance team

  • Assist with documentation of finance procedures in Promapp
  • Cross train with other functions within finance to enable cover during periods of leave.
  • Other tasks as required.
  • Procedures are well documented
  • As staff are cross trained to support others the taking of leave does not cause disruption.

Health and Safety

  • To comply with ETEL’s Health & Safety Policy’s and keep yourself and others safe at all times
  • Contribute to ETEL H & S culture by taking an active leadership in H & S initiatives
  • Treat safety as your first priority and encourage team mates to do the same
  • Wear PPE gear as required
  • Follow safe work practises
  • Ensure you are adequately trained before using any machinery
  • Make sure your work place is clean and tidy following 5S guidelines
  • Report and correctly document any accidents
  • Report and correctly document any H & S concerns
  • Respond to any safety issues with urgency
  • Learn relevant policies, procedures and work instruction and ensure you follow these
  • Ensure all Corrective Action Requirements (CAR’s) are completed in a timely fashion and actions are communicated to the Business Intelligence department
  • All H & S procedures are complied with at all times
  • Accidents are reported accurately and quickly (<24hours)
  • To always act in a safe manner
  • First aid certification is obtained and maintained
