 We are seeking a culturally competent Communications Manager with a talent for storytelling to join us at Te Kura. In this role you will not only lead a small team delivering internal and external communications, but you will be a key contributor to our bilingual strategy.

About the Role
In this role you will lead a small team delivering internal and external communications. You will play a significant part in supporting the Chief Executive and Senior Leadership Team on brand and reputation management as well as developing and delivering the communications strategy. Key accountabilities include responsiveness to Tangata Whenua and to Pacific ākonga and their whanau. All communications will incorporate the goals of Te Kura’s Māori Student Success Framework and the goals of the Pacific Strategy.
 
About You
You will be an experienced and precise writer and editor and be responsible for managing and developing content for the website, social media and other external channels. You will be the go-to person for the media, so you have expertise in proactive and reactive media liaison. To be successful in this role you will be politically savvy and have an understanding of the machinery of government and of the education sector.  You will also know how to spot emerging risks, issues, opportunities and trends. As a key contributor to our bilingual strategy (Te Rautaki Reorua) you will have proficiency in written and spoken Te Reo Māori.
