Through media relations, social media, video production, and design, the Marketing & Communications team works across the entire business to translate literal rocket science and complex ideas into stories and messages that resonate with key audiences.WHAT YOU'LL GET TO DOWe're looking for a Communications & Marketing Assistant to help bring Rocket Lab's stories to life and support a busy team. If you've ever been fascinated by rocket launches and missions to space, this is a rare opportunity to join a global company doing incredible things in the space industry in this newly created role. Join us on a 12 month contract , working with some of the best in Aerospace!You'll provide administration support to a busy, fast-paced communications team, as well as get to dip your toe into marketing and communications work. On any given day you might be ordering swag, coordinating an event, wrangling suppliers, organising meetings, writing social media content, contributing to brainstorms, writing press releases, or managing rocket factory tours.This role is ideal for someone who hates being bored, is no stranger to rolling their sleeves up, contributes creative ideas, is hungry to learn new things, brings a great can-do attitude to every task, and is eager to grow their skills across as administration, communications and marketing. A university qualification is nice but not mandatory for this position.Day to day you'll:Administrative tasks including managing merchandise and swag orders, submitting invoices, organising meetings and preparing minutes etcDraft newsletters, press releases, website content and social media posts .Copywriting for brochures, advertisements, presentations, posters, and other marketing assets.Assist with video shoots including organising timeslots for interviews, develop questions, support the set up and pack down filming equipment, etc.Coordinate internal and external events and tradeshows, including coordinating with suppliers and organise equipment for tradeshows, manage merchandise supply and shipping, etc.YOU'LL BRING THESE QUALIFICATIONS:Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, video shooting and editing, social media management, photography.1-2 years' experience in a communications and marketing role.An interest in aerospace, rocket launches, and satellite missions. You don't have to know orbital mechanics, but you should be interested in it.A strong administrator, a good multi-tasker, and a safe pair of hands who gets things done.Experience coordinating various marketing, video, and design projects at once, from start to finish.An interest in marketing and communications and a desire to learn.Enthusiasm and ideas, energy to burn, and great attention to detail.Experience with the following, or a willingness to learn how to use: Microsoft programs like Excel and Sharepoint, Mailchimp, website CMS, Shopify.A university degree in communications and marketing or relevant field is nice but not mandatory.If this sounds like you, apply today!WHAT TO EXPECTWe're on a mission to unlock the potential of space to improve life on Earth, but that's not an easy task.
